Launch checklist
Launching a Solana or pump.fun coin? Tick through these steps to launch cleanly and avoid the mistakes that make holders run. Your progress saves in this browser.
…
- One simple idea people get in a second: a character, a joke, a community. Write one sentence about what it is. That sentence becomes your description.
- Search the ticker on pump.fun, DexScreener and X before you launch. If a popular coin already uses it, pick another: copycats look like scams and confuse buyers. Why copycats are a red flag.
- On pump.fun the image, name and ticker are locked once the coin is created, so get the logo right first. Square, clear at small sizes. Need one? Make one free.
- Say what the coin is, not what it will do for buyers. No "guaranteed", "100x", "passive income" or roadmaps you can’t deliver. Promising profits is misleading and can be a securities problem.
- pump.fun charges no fee to create a coin, you only pay the small Solana network fee. Your dev buy is a normal trade on the bonding curve, so it pays the curve’s trading fee. Keep the dev buy small: a creator holding a huge share scares buyers and shows up in every rug check.
- Don\u2019t buy your own coin from many fresh wallets at launch ("bundling") or with sniper bots. It is easy to spot on-chain, gets flagged by tools and kills trust. More on dev and bundled wallets.
- pump.fun burns the liquidity automatically when a coin graduates from the bonding curve. If you create a pool yourself on Raydium or Meteora, burn the LP tokens or lock them with a well-known, audited liquidity locker, and share the proof. Why unlocked LP is risky.
- Share the contract address (CA) only from your official accounts and pin it. Warn holders that you will never DM them first. About impersonators.
- After launch, paste your CA into the free rug check and share the link. It shows buyers the authorities, top holders and liquidity in plain words.
- Add your brand, goals and products to the JestSprout Coin Shop. It\u2019s free, with an automatic rug check badge. Nobody legit asks you to pay SOL to be listed.
- Fake volume or wash trading with your own wallets.
- Paying "call" groups or promoters who want SOL up front. Most never deliver.
- Promising returns, price targets or profit shares (a securities risk).
- Clicking "claim" or "verify wallet" links in DMs.
